St Michael’s Catholic School offers a comprehensive careers education, information, advice and guidance programme (CEIAG), which includes access to an independent, impartial Careers Adviser who work s with students, parents and carers. The school will continue to build tangible links with the business community and provide its pupils with skills for work in the 21 st century.

The school recognises the diversity of young people and provides opportunities to learn about, practise and develop employability skills through work related learning activities, such as work experience, industry and enterprise days.

CEIAG resources, activities and impact are reviewed and evaluated by learners, teachers and external partners, whic h helps to develop the department and feeds into the wider reviewing process in the school.

The success criteria is that students are being more able to see the relevance of their school learning to the world of work, awareness of the world of work in general , develop decision making skills, and plan and manage their progression and transition in learning and work.

Careers Library (6th Form Common Room) is open for drop-in and information Monday to Thursday 2-2:30pm
