Year 10 student shortlisted for national Girls Active award
Lena was nominated by the PE department for her work in the Girls Active project and as result of judging by a panel of experts, was shortlisted in the category of Personal Growth. This is a national programme where students from throughout the country are invited to nominate their peers for what they have done to encourage girls’ participation in sport. Lena has been an advocate of this and since attending the Girls Active training day at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, she has helped to increase the numbers of girls participating in extra-curricular activities and also she has grown in confidence as a performer herself. The PE department are extremely proud of this recognition and although she did not win the award, she should be congratulated for being shortlisted. Well done Lena!
